Anne Strange Buckingham, age 71, of Fulton, KY died October 1, 2011 at 9:36 am at the Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield, KY.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fulton, KY and was a 1958 graduate of South Fulton High School. She was the first
female dispatcher for the Fulton Police Department and worked there
in the 1960's. She went on to work as secretary for the Fulton Housing Authority and retired from the Fulton Independent School System, where she was secretary for Carr Elementary School for over twenty years. She had lived in this community all of her life.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Bobby Buckingham of Fulton,KY, two daughters, Kelly (Mike) Cash of Fulton, KY, Becky (Chris) Hollingsworth of South Fulton,TN, a son James R. "Buck" (Chris) Buckingham of Fulton, KY, six grandchildren, David Rose of Dukedom,TN, Sam Rose of Fulton, KY, McCall Buckingham of Bowling Green, KY, Ben Green of Clinton, KY, Allie & Aaron Hollingsworth of South Fulton, TN and a brother Joe Strange of Cabot, Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her father, Howard Strange, her mother
Helen (Horton) Stanley and a brother Tommy Strange.
A graveside service will be held at 1 pm Tuesday, Oct. 4 at the
Fairview Cemetery in Fulton. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 11 am Tuesday until time to leave for the cemetery.
