Jo Nell Powell

Mrs. Jo Nell Powell, 60 of Hickman went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 17, 2017 and was reunited with her loving parents, Joe and Barbara Barber. She was a teacher’s assistant for the Fulton County Elementary Special education classes and had worked in the school system for over twenty-two years. Jo Nell was a member of the David’s Chapel Baptist Church near Hickman. Jo Nell is survived by her husband, Phillip Powell of Hickman, sons, Phillip Adam (Mary) Powell of Martin, TN and Eli Barber Powell of Jacksonville, FL; daughters, Casey Joanelle (Thomas) Gordon of Fulton, KY and Emily Carolann (Jim) McMahon of Clinton, KY; brother, Chad Joseph Barber of Clinton, KY and Teresa Carol Allison of Clinton, KY and seven grandchildren. Her parents, Joe F. and Barbara Nell Barber preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Strong Funeral Home. Rev. Mark Lambert will officiate the service. There will be no burial, as her wishes were to be cremated. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again on Wednesday from 12 noon until service time.
