Geneva Sweeney

Mrs. Geneva Sweeney, 87, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, February 12, 2017. She died at her home in Hickman, KY. Mrs. Sweeney was born in Hickman to the late Dewey Bowers and late Willie (Thompson) Bowers on April 6, 1929. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Sweeney, and 2 brothers, Roger Bowers and Bobby Joe Bowers. She served as executive vice-president for the Citizens Bank prior to her retirement in 1994. She had been employed at the bank for over 40 years. Mrs. Sweeney was a devoted member of the West Baptist Church in Hickman. Her survivors include her brother, Ronald (Swan) Bowers of Hickman; nephews, Joe Lynn Bowers, Steve Bowers and Jeffery Tarver, niece, Susan Malone, great nephews, Clint Malone, Judd Malone, and Matt O’Connor, great niece, Stephanie Graves and great great nephews, Jack and Drew Graves. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at the West Baptist Church in Hickman. Rev. Henry Callison will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hickman City Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Monday, February 13th at Strong Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, February 14th at West Baptist Church from 11:00 AM until service time at 1:00 PM Terry Lane, Ronnie Lane, Mike Taylor, Bob Anderson Chad Parker and Chuck Everett will serve as pallbearers.
