W.C. Nicholson

Mr. W. C. Nicholson, 89, of Hickman died on February 12, 2016 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City, TN. Mr. Nicholson was born on August 7, 1926 in Hickman to the late John Nicholson and the late Frances (Buchanan) Nicholson Gaston. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U. S. Army. Mr. Nicholson was retired from the James E. White Farms, where he had farmed for many years. He was a member of the Lake Chapel Church where he served as chairman of the deacons and was a devoted Christian and church member. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Clarence and Tommy Nicholson, and several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Cleora (Isbell) Nicholson , sons, Willie, Larry and Ricky Nicholson; daughters, Charlotte Southern, Dorothy Martin, Luvonda Simmons, Frances Nicholson, Amy Nicholson and Diane Young; brother, Charles Gaston; sister, Dorothy Gaston, 23 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren and relatives. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at the Lake Chapel Missionary Baptist church with Rev. Herman R. Emery officiating . Burial will follow in the Hickman City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 18th from 11:00 AM until service time at 1:00 PM. Pallbearers will be: Greg Wilson, Calvin Wilson, Ray Smith, Johnny B. Donlow, Gerald Marney and Willie Hagler.
