Jimmie Lloyd George

Jimmie Lloyd George, 65, of Lake Placid, FL, formerly of Hickman, KY died at his residence in Lake Placid, FL on June 25, 2015. He was a construction carpenter and a U. S. Army veteran. Mr. George was of Baptist faith. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Ann George of Lake Placid, FL; son, Jimmie George, Jr. of North Carolina; daughters, Melissa Vassar of Nashville, TN and Vivian George of Lake Placid, FL; sisters, Betty Oliver of Hermitage, TN, JoAnn Brooks of Union City, TN, Brenda Williams of Madison, TN and Janis Taylor of Hendersonville, TN and three grandchildren. Mr. George was born in Fulton, KY on October 7, 1949 to the late Doyle and Elizabeth “Olean” George. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Doyle Wayne George. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday at the Hickman City Cemetery with Rev. Henry Callison officiating. Burial with military rites will follow. The family will receive visitors at Strong Funeral Home on Wednesday from 12 noon until 12:50 PM at which time they will depart for the cemetery.
