Doanld Eugene "Gene" Riley

Donald Eugene “Gene” Riley, 78, of Hickman, KY died on February 26, 2015 at his daughter’s home in Obion, TN. He was born in Kenton, TN on February 3, 1937 to the late Jim Lovell Riley and Mabel (Prescott) Riley. Gene was a veteran of the U. S. Army and a member of the Sassafras Ridge Baptist Church. He was a retired auto, small engine and towboat mechanic. At the present time he was employed by the Hickman Country Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death his wife of 54 years Carrolene Riley and 2 brothers, Laymon and Jerry Riley Riley is survived by his son: Donald Riley of Hickman, daughters, Gwen Stafford of Obion, TN and Debbie Underwood of Fulton, KY, brothers, Billy Joe Riley of Ledbetter, KY, sisters, Faye Anderson and Brenda Roberson, both of Hickman and Wanda Garland of Union City, TN, 6 grandchildren, John Alexander of Hickman, D. J. Riley of Troy, TN, Christopher Stafford of Union City, TN, Jeremy Riley of Obion, TN, Jessica Brimm of Friendship, TN and Chelsea Riley of York , PA and 6 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Strong Funeral Home with Rev. Henry Callison officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in the Brownsville Cemetery near Hickman, KY The family will receive visitors from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 28th at Strong Funeral Home and again on Sunday at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until service time.
