Joe E. Lyons, Jr.

Mr. Joe E. Lyons, Jr., 89, of Hickman died on August 10, 2014 at Lourdes Hospital. He was retired from the U.S. Army and a veteran of World War II, Korean conflict and the Vietnam War. Mr. Lyons was a member of the Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Preceding him in death were his parents, Joe E. Lyons, Sr. and Claire Mae (Allen) Lyons. He is survived by his son, Joe E. Lyons, III of Suffolk, VA, daughters, Calista A. Lyons and Celeste Jones, both of Hickman, 4 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at the Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Nicholas Glenn officiating. Burial will follow in the Hickman City Cemetery with Military rites. Visitation will be on Saturday, August 16th from 10:00 A.M. until service time at 11:00 A.M. at the church.
