Mary Edna Williams

"A mother's love lives within the hearts of her children forever." On the morning of August 12, 2014, God saw fit to call away the sweet spirit of Mrs. Mary Edna Love Williams to her heavenly home. Mrs. Williams was born to Sam and Tommie Love of Hickman, KY. She was a beloved mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Edna or “Miss America”, as she was known to her ICF friends, put her family first. She worked hard around the house. She loved to cook and the more her family ate, the happier she was. She also loved to keep her mind sharp by working puzzles and watching Wheel of Fortune. She attended West Baptist Church; however, her health kept her from regular attendance in the past few years. Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Williams, her parents, five siblings and two children, Donald Williams and Michael Williams. She is survived by two brothers, Kenneth Love and Sam Love Jr.; two sisters, Frankie Jones and Ruby Wills; two sons, Richard Williams (Alice) and Brent Williams (Teresa); one daughter, Frieda Templeton (Robert); daughter-in-law, Joyce Williams; twelve grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the Clinton-Hickman County ICF Nursing Facility for the kindness shown to our mom and our family. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, August 15, 2014 at Strong Funeral Home with Rev. Henry Callison officiating. Burial will be in the Hickman City Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at Strong Funeral Home on Thursday, August 14th after 6:00 P.M. A happy home we once enjoyed, how sweet the memory still, but death has left a loneliness the world can never fill.
