Dan Cartwright, Jr.

Mr. Dan Cartwright, Jr. , 82 , of Hickman passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at his residence. He was born in Hickman on December 29, 1931 to the late Dan Cartwright, Sr. and the late Jewel (Simmons) Cartwright. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Cartwright. Mr. Cartwright was a self employed plumber, member of the First Church of God and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Cartwright of Hickman, sons, John (Jeanie) Mathews and Jermey (Jaime) Mathews, all of Hickman; daughters, Joyce (Scott) Lawrence and Cindy (Rick) McWhorter, all of South Fulton, TN, Diana (Marty) Finch of Foley, MO, Debe (Bob) Canaday of Wentzville, MO and Jane (Paul) Jackson of Union City, TN; brother, Richard Cartwright of Shawtown, TN; 22 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 1st at the First Church of God in Hickman with Revs. Johnny Chessor and Gary Poe officiating. Burial will follow in the Obion County Memorial Gardens with military rites. The family will receive visitors at the First Church of God on Monday after 6:00 P.M. and again on Tuesday from 9:00 A.M. until service time. Pallbearers will be: Derrick Elliott, Chase Elliott, Dusty Hickerson, Cory Finch, Eric Busby, Chris Enloe, Daniel Canaday and Micah Canaday. Honorary pallbearer will be Jason Mathews and Jonah Mathews.
