Elmer C. Williams

Mr. Elmer C. Williams, 79, of Hickman, KY passed away on July 18, 2013 at 10:40 P.M. at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City, TN. Elmer was born on June 12, 1934 in Hickman. He was a member of the Sassafras Ridge Baptist Church near Hickman and a self-employed farmer. Preceding him in death were his parents, Albert Williams, Sr. and Zula (Goodman) Williams; brother, Albert Williams, Jr. and half-brothers, Elbert Henson and William Henson. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Williams of Hickman; son, Paul Lee Williams (Carol) of Hickman; daughters, Janice Schecter(Marc) of Murray, KY Tamara Sams (Greg) of Water Valley, KY, Lori Owens(Danny) of Owensboro, KY and Sandra Guess(Raymond) of Hickman; brother, Garland Williams of Hickman; sisters, Lillie Mae Black of Hickman, Doris Walker of Parkers Crossroads, TN and Brenda Green of Grand Rivers, KY; eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Sassafras Ridge Baptist Church on Sunday, July 21, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. with Revs. Charles Southerland and Robert Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Hickman City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Strong Funeral Home on Saturday, July 20, 2013 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and again on Sunday, July 21st from 12 noon until service hour at the Sassafras Ridge Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be: Justin Williams, Matthew Morgan, Blake Morgan, Josh Owens, Clay Owens and Nick Guess. Honorary pallbearers : Danny Owens, Marc Schecter, Greg Sams and Raymond Guess.
