James E. Ross

Mr. James E. Ross, 91, of Hickman died on Friday, August 17, 2012 at his home in Hickman. He was a retired dredge supervisor with the U.S. Corp of Engineers, an Army veteran of World War II and of Methodist faith. Mr. Ross was preceded in death by his parents, Hillard and Lola (Bass) Ross, wife, Linnie Marie Ross, brother, Bert Ross ,sisters, Margaret Carlton, Betty Jones, Janet Taylor and Martha Dale Hamblin. He is survived by his sons: Bobby Ross of Benton, IL, Wayne Ross of Hickman, Ky and Ralph Ross of Cayce, KY; daughters: Freida Carr of Hickman, KY, Vickie Ross of South Fulton, TN and Judy Shell of Union City, TN; brother, Harold Ross of Elkton, KY; sister, Frances Covi of Thornton, CO; eleven grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 19, 2012 at Strong Funeral Home with Dewayne Uzzle officiating. Burial will follow in the Hickman City Cemetery. Friends may call at Strong Funeral Home on Saturday, August 18th from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and again on Sunday from noon until service time.
